The 38-year-old reality star has addressed criticism after revealing she and husband Kanye West hired private firefighters to dave their Hidden Hills mansion from the catastrophic California wildfires.
Kim Kardashian has spoken out after revealing that she and husband Kanye West hired private firefighters during the disastrous California wildfires.
The 38-year-old, who shares a Hidden Hills mansion with West and their three children North, five, Saint, two, and 11-month-old Chicago, appeared on The Ellen Show this week and clarified the reports.
"Our house is right on the end of a big park, so the whole park had caught fire and so if our house went, then every other house would go," she told DeGeneres.
Kim explained that, by hiring private firefighters to tackle the blaze, she was able to protect not only her home but the surroundings houses near it, and that she doesn't take this "blessing" for granted.

"We were fortunate enough and blessed enough, and I know that not everyone has this luxury available to them, but we were able to get private firefighters," she said. 'They saved our home and saved our neighbourhood."
"I had them just make sure that they controlled every house on the edge, so it wasn't just my home that I said, 'Just take care of our home. Take care of everything because once they go, once ours starts, the whole neighbourhood can go'."
Kardashian revealed that it still isn't safe for her family to move back into the home following the catastrophic fires that blazed through entire neighbourhoods earlier this month.
"We are still not at home now because the smoke smell is too intense," she told Ellen. "We have these machines everywhere trying to blow out the smoke smell."
Later during the interview, Kim revealed that Kanye donated $500,000 towards the wildfire relief through Adidas and his Yeezy brand. The rapper recently tweeted plans to build a "fireproof community".
Kim also gave $100,000 to firefighter Michael Williams and his wife after they lost their home in the wildfires. Despite losing their home, Williams continued to fight the fires to save those of his neighbours.
