The 'Wild Thoughts' singer is rumoured to be working on some long-awaited new music, but this is one collaboration we didn't expect - Ri is reportedly hitting up Colin Kaepernick after turning down the Super Bowl halftime show in support of him.

Rihanna is reportedly "ready to collaborate" with NFL star Colin Kaepernick on a new music video after supposedly turning down the Super Bowl halftime show.

The 30-year-old singer allegedly refused to take on the prestigious gig in support of Kaepernick after he started to kneel during the National Anthem in an act of protest in 2016.

Rihanna allegedly doesn't agree with the NFL's decision to fine players who kneel, and is looking to make a change in "a fun and powerful way" with Kaepernick by her side.

According to Metro, the 'Wild Thoughts' singer wants to tackle social justice reform with a music video featuring Kaepernick. Both are said to be "excited to push boundaries together."

‘Colin was overwhelmed when he found out Rihanna turned down the Super Bowl to stand with him in his protest against anti-black violence and injustices," the insider claims.

"He’d heard a little while before the rest of the world did and since then they’ve been speaking regularly and have decided to work on something related to social justice reform."

Fans have been eagerly awaiting new music from the Fenty Beauty entrepreneur, whose last album 'ANTI' - which housed hits including 'Work', 'Needed Me' and 'Love On The Brain' - dropped back in 2016.

Meanwhile, Maroon 5 are the chosen act that will be headlining the Super Bowl next year.
