The R&B singer was recently compared to Jackson, as well as late rapper Tupac, by his past collaborator Justin Bieber, which was met with severe backlash.

His friend and collaborator Justin Bieber caused uproar this month after likening him to Michael Jackson and Tupac, but it seems Chris Brown is very much here for the comparison.

The 30-year-old posted an artist's image of Michael Jackson, adorned with a halo, pointing to and passing a golden crown to Brown, who sits in a chair with the shadow of the crown above his head.

"Learn from the greatness in a person, then learn from the greatness in you!" he captioned the post. The singer appears to have disabled the comments section underneath it.

Brown frequently cites Jackson as his biggest musical inspiration. The singer famously broke down in tears while performing 'Man In The Mirror' during his Michael Jackson Tribute at the 2010 BET Awards.

Earlier in the month, Justin Bieber referred to Brown as the "legendary equation" of Jackson and Tupac, which was quickly criticised on social media.

Some people took issue with the fact that Brown's long history of physical abuse - including ex-girlfriends Rihanna and Karrueche Tran - was being overlooked, while Brown responded with love to Bieber's post.
