Nicki Minaj and Ariana Grande aren't just collaborators - they're close friends, and their antics at the MTV VMAs 2018 were all the proof we needed.
In a short video that has since gone viral, the 'Queen' rapstress can be seen huddling closely to Grande as the pop starlet whispers something in her ear during the ceremony.

After hearing what the 'Sweetener' songbird had to say, Nicki appears alarmed. In the footage, she rolls her eyes before leaning in to say something back to Ariana, who erupts into laughter.
There isn't any audio to accompany the clip, so fans are conjuring up their own theories on what - or, more specifically, who - the chart-toppers could be talking about.

They might be talking about someone in the room. You can see Nicki look/blink at someone for a couple seconds before pulling Ariana closer to say something. And, I could be wrong, but Nicki looks SLIGHTLY annoyed. (Don’t quote me on anything though; I could be VERY wrong.)

Elsewhere during the show, Travis Scott appeared to fire shots at Minaj following his performance, which featured a medley of tracks from his album 'Astroworld'.
“Astroworld No. 1 right now, MTV VMAs make some noise!” he yelled. The jab comes after Nicki Minaj feuded with the rapper, claiming that he "knows" her new album ‘Queen’ should have been number one.
Minaj also faced an awkward run-in with Scott's beau Kylie Jenner at the awards show after she slammed the social media star for her alleged involvement in the chart battle.
