Ashley Walters Reveals Why Drake Bought Top Boy, Gives Season 3 Updates

Ashley Walters has revealed why Drake decided to buy Top Boy and release the highly-anticipated third season.

The actor, who plays Dushane in the TV series, spoke openly about his meeting with Drake in a new interview with So Solid rapper Harvey.

Revealing that Drake was a huge fan of Top Boy, he said the ‘Nice For What’ star wanted to help Walters to 'break' America as an actor.

“After I had that brief conversation with him, I was speaking to his manager on a regular basis and we just kept in touch,” said Ashley Walters.

“There was a year and a half of silence and I didn’t really hear from them again. Then I get a call from the production company saying Drake has done the deal.”

Walters then revealed that Drake was going to be an executive producer of Top Boy season 3 alongside basketball legend LeBron James.

Importantly Walters revealed that the cast are set to start filming Top Boy season 3 “in three weeks”.

There is still no confirmation about storyline or characters however Kano is expected to reprise his character as Sully.

While there are rumours that Drake might make an acting appearance in Top Boy season 3.

The show will appear on Netflix UK but there is currently no release date.
