'Hustlers' is set to be Cardi B's first ever movie role and will be about a squad of ex-strippers also starring Keke Palmer and Julia Stiles.
'Hustlers,' an upcoming movie about a strip-club starring Jennifer Lopez, Constance Wu and Cardi B has been set for a September 13th release date in the US.
Lopez revealed the news on Instagram. "Thass right," she wrote, "SEPTEMBER 13. @hustlersmovie coming to a theater near you," followed by a money bag emoji.
Cardi B is no stranger to the spotlight with her successful music career, rollercoaster relationship with husband and Migos rapper Offset as well as her young daughter Kulture keeping the 'Please Me' rapper in the headlines.
But now Cardi's revealed on Instagram that she's set to take on her first Hollywood role and will make her acting debut in the film 'Hustlers' alongside the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Constance Wu, Keke Palmer, Julia Stiles, Lili Reinhart, and Mercedes Ruehl.
According to reports, 'Hustlers' is a film based on a squad of New York strip club employees who are attempting to seek revenge on some of their wealthy Wall Street clients.
It's not known what role Cardi will be playing in the film but having famously worked as a dancer in a strip club before getting her big break she may be able to offer some expert advice on set.
After the news emerged, Deadline reported that 'Hustlers' will begin shooting on 22nd March 2019 in New York, so it shouldn't be too long before we get some pictures from the set.
Speaking to deadline,'Hustlers' writer and director Lorene Scafaria said, “I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to work with this dynamic group of women. We’re grateful to have assembled such a powerhouse cast and can’t wait to start filming at the end of the week.”
