Kanye West on Donald Trump

Yeezy was stumped...

Kanye West went awkwardly silent when asked about his views on Donald Trump during a new interview with Jimmy Kimmel.

The opinionated rapper, who is reportedly close to becoming a billionaire, appeared to be stumped when he was asked whether he thought that President Donald Trump really cared about the lives of black people “or any people at all”.

The lengthy pause during the show on Thursday caused Kimmel to switch to a commercial break to end the moment.

In the past Kanye West has publicly called the US president his brother and claimed that the pair share “dragon energy”.

However his enthusiasm for the controversial president appears to have ended.

During the rare lengthy interview, Kanye West spoke openly about designing clothes for Yeezy, his mental state since his breakdown in 2016, his family and more.

Speaking about Trump earlier during the interview he said: "As a musician, African-American... everyone around me tried to pick my candidate for me," he said, hinting towards a perception that "blacks can only be Democrats".

Meanwhile, Kanye West’s wife Kim Kardashian has also been in the news recently over their child North West.

The reality star claimed that her 5-year-old daughter had asked her about the reasons behind why their family were famous.
