Drake revealed the news on stage in London...

Drake has revealed the real reason he made a surprise appearance at Wireless Festival 2018.

The rapper, who replaced DJ Khaled on the line-up on Sunday, stunned fans when he performed new songs from his album ‘Scorpion’ for the first time.

However during the set, the OVO rapper made the surprising admission that he wasn’t originally planning to cover for DJ Khaled at the Finsbury Park festival.

“I was only supposed to come out for KMT, right? he said. "Then I heard somebody cancelled their performance today.

“It’s OK, I’m gonna ask London permission. Can I run a little something tonight to make up for it?”

Drake then performed a number of songs from his new album including ‘In My Feelings’, ‘I’m Upset’, ‘Non Stop’ and more.

DJ Khaled was supposed to close Wireless Festival on Sunday with a set alongside his "friends" however his cancellation was announced due to "travel issues".
