Chris Brown has been arrested in Manchester following an attack that took place at Tape nightclub on Abraham Diaw back in 2023.

Chris Brown was arrested late last night, 15th May, after landing in the UK hours before.
The ‘Loyal’ singer is set to kick of his European leg of his upcoming tour, ‘Breezy Bowl XX’, on the 8th of June.

Why was Chris Brown arrested?
Chris Brown was arrested for the nightclub attack of music producer Abe Diaw, that occurred back in February 2023.
The assault took place in the iconic London club Tape, where the claimant alleged that Chris bottled him, punched and kicked him.
Abe alleged he needed to go to hospital and was unable to walk without crutches, resulting in “permanent” damage and “severe emotional distress”, for which he is seeking $16 million (£12milion).
The Metropolitan Police released a statement that read: “A 36-year-old man was arrested at a hotel in Manchester shortly after 02:00hrs on Thursday, 15 May on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. He has been taken into custody where he remains.”
The alleged attack occurred back in February 2023, with the “AO” singer allegedly being unsuccessfully presented with charges two-times prior for the assault in LA.
When will Chris Brown be released?
It is not yet known when the star will be released, with the Met still having him in custody, or if this case will go to trial.
After Chris's hearing on the 16th May, it is clear that he will still be in custody awaiting his upcoming Crown Court case on the 13th June.
Will Chris Brown’s arrest affect his tour?
The artist’s first UK tour since 2023 is set to kick off on the 15th June, at the Co-op Live Manchester Arena, with his first date being the week prior, 8th June, in Amsterdam.
It is impossible to know just yet what will come of the star’s arrest, however, he will likely miss the first three dates of his tour as he will still be within custody.
He had previously been put on over-a-decade ban from the UK for his assault on Barbadian singer Rihanna back in 2010.
