Nas talks making music 20 years after the release of 'Illmatic.'

This year marks the 20th anniversary since the release of Nas' incredible debut 'Illmatic.' Of course, it's no easy feat staying ahead of the industry for so long, but here he is, two decades later and still one of the most prominent figures in hip-hop.

But in a new interview with Revolt TV, the modest rapper has revealed that back in 94' he never imaged his career would have such longevity.

"I didn't know I would even be still around this long," and more so than that, Nas revealed he didn't even want to be around for this long.

"I didn't want to be around this long in the game, to tell you the truth," he said. "I was just happy to get a voice in. So, just being happy to get your voice, anybody out there who's working on their first album or who's only made one album, just think about 20 years from now, it's gonna be a great feeling."

Recently Nas revealed that this year he will re-release 'Illmatic' later this year to commemorate its 20th anniversary, and will also release a documentary and embark on a tour. Find more details here.
