Watch the Young Money rapper make the announcement.

Lil' Wayne has finally announced a release date for his long awaited 'Free Weezy' album - the first he will release since falling out of love and into a lawsuit with Birdman and Cash Money.

During a club appearance in California earlier this week, Weezy announced that the album will be (quite appropriately) released on 4th July - America's Independence day.

"I got a new album coming out. It's called FWA. It'll be out Fourth of July," he told the crowd.

Wayne recently announce that he had jumped on board alongside Kanye West, Nicki Minaj and Beyoncé to co-own Jay Z's Tidal streaming service, further distancing himself from Cash Money.
