The Cast

As things heat up in Power, one thing is certain – nobody is safe.

"Look, no-one's been safe on our show for quite some time, but obviously, the main characters have had longer lives,” said Power creator Courtney A Kemp told Deadline following the season finale.

"We are reaching the end of this journey, so the main characters are less safe than they have ever been before."

Expect all the biggest characters to make a return, including Kanan (50 Cent), Ghost (Omari Hardwick), Tommy (Joseph Sikora), Dre (Rotimi Akinosho), Tariq (Michael Rainey) or Angela (Lela Loren) – but they may not see the next finale.

The Release Date

In September 2017, Starz confirmed in a now-deleted tweet that a 2018 release date is expected. There is currently no exact date but expect Power to return in June or July, similar to this year.

Rotimi, who plays character Dre, later tweeted "see you in 2018"

The Plot

Despite the number deaths in season 4, the next season isn’t expected to be gloomy.

"Of course, it can get worse," Courtney A Kemp told Deadline: "Because no-one's been caught for anything yet.

“You know, there's always another way that things can go badly on Power, but then also there might be some great joy and some great success. People might come out ahead. I don't know. Maybe two of our characters are going to fall back in love. Who knows?"

Fans can also expect major plot twists, similar to season 4, however Starz will be hoping that 50 Cent doesn’t leak any more episodes.

Where to watch

Power Season 5 will air on US TV network Starz, despite 50 Cent’s regular threats to take it to rival network BET.

For British fans, expect the new series to appear on Netflix UK.
