Watch the singer perform "Soldier's Heart' on the Arsenio Hall show.

Last night R. Kelly was on US chat show 'The Arsenio Hall Show' as the two learnt the news that former South African president Nelson Mandela had passed away, age 95.

As a tribute, R Kelly emotionally performed "Soldier's Heart" – a song that he composed for Mandela himself, and performed for him in his own living room.

R. Kelly told Arsenio; "I sang for Nelson Mandela in his home out in Africa… I sang a special song for him on his piano. I got the chance to meet him and I'm just blessed to know that I walked in his presence"

Adding; "Being around him inspired me to go further in my life."
