Videos circulating on social media depict a large mob of young men mounting the car and smashing his windscreen, whilst others attempted to drag the ‘Shirt off Shawty’ artist out of the vehicle, resulting in him being stabbed in the neck.
Posting to his 300k followers on Instagram on the evening of the 15th July, he initially shared the famous image of President Trump cheering after surviving an attempt on his life.
Top5 seemingly drew a comparison between the two because of their lack of defeat and ultimate victory against the attack.
He has since posted again on the 16th of July, a story post referring to his Muslim faith with a reflective statement.
The image depicted somebody holding flowers with the caption: “Alhamdulillah for everything in my life. The good & the bad. Some were blessings & some were lessons.”
Some fans were suggesting the attack happened because of a remark he made on a livestream, where he insinuated that “there is no real killers in London”, some saying it rubbed people the wrong way.
His response to his Instagram suggests he has reflected and learnt from the experience.
Top5 is yet to release an official statement, and it is uncertain what medical state the Toronto rapper is in despite being stable.
