Teyana Taylor credits Aaron Pierre for being ‘hands-on’ with the making of her new album

Teyana Taylor has returned from a 5-year music hiatus, crediting her new boyfriend Aaron Pierre for acting as ‘executive producer’ for her upcoming album.

Teyana Taylor has been promoting her upcoming visual album, ‘Escape Room’, set to be released in August 2025, and has given her flowers to new boyfriend, Aaron Pierre, for his assistance with her upcoming project.

The new couple, who debuted their relationship in June 2025, stepped out together most recently at the BET Awards 2025, where the singer performed a couple of her new track for the first time ever.
Speaking recently in an interview with GQ, Teyana discussed the impact that The Lion King star had had on the creative process in making her upcoming album, ‘Escape Room’.
She said: “He’s a real big music head and just how hands-on he’s been on this album with me has been really amazing to see. You ever sit back and be like, ‘This person don’t play about me’? I was like, ‘Yeah, you need to be my leading man, because you understand every single song, every single emotion, every single feeling, which is that, on set, you’re going to bring it.’”
Aaron is set to be the lead male visual in the upcoming visual album, with the steamy trailer giving fans an insight into the pair’s relationship.
Teyana also mentioned that Aaron had almost acted as an executive producer in the project.
She said: “He damn near EP’ed the album. He’s so on top of it and so involved and so passionate in regards to the album. He would be like, ‘Oh, yeah, that melody right there? That was fire.’ I’m like, ‘Thank you. I thought nobody was going to notice that.’”
The pair recently celebrated the actor’s 31st birthday with a surprise meal that the singer had planned, sharing the event on socials thus hard-launching as a couple.
The upcoming album is set to be released in August 2025, accompanied by a short visual film, starring Aaron Pierre alongside his partner.
