R&B songs slowed down

Say hello to 2018's latest Twitter meme.

Some songs never get old, but a handful of creative people on Twitter have put a spin on some of your favourite records that you probably didn't anticipate.

Using the mixing app 'djay', Internet users have begun playing tracks and 'slowing them down' - i.e. remixing them with some very recognisable audio.

The results are going viral, but if the premise of 2018's version of the Redbone meme is still unclear to you, have a listen to the examples listed below.

For starters, here's Rihanna's 'Needed Me'.

Next up, Whitney Houston with 'I Will Always Love You'.

Frank Ocean's 'Thinking Bout You' sounds different.

Yet 'Hero' by Mariah Carey sounds oddly familiar.

This version of Ariana Grande's 'Break Free' is great.

As is this remix of Cardi B's 'Bartier Cardi'.

So, there you have it. You'll never listen to your favourite song in the same way again!

You're welcome.
