Last night (22nd February) John Legend and Common celebrated as they picked up the 'Original Song' Oscar for 'Glory' from the 'Selma' soundtrack.
'Selma' tells the story of Martin Luther King's civil rights movement, and more specifically about his and his fellow protestors march from Selma to Montgomery.
While 'Glory' celebrates how far the world has come, John Legend and Common used their acceptance speech to send a powerful message about how far there still is to go.

"This transcends race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, and social status," said Common, while John added, "Selma is now, because the struggle for justice is right now."
