Jay-Z, rap mogul and husband of superstar Beyoncé, has been rumoured to be the next musical guest to headline the iconic Super Bowl halftime show, following on from the viral performance of rapper Kendrick Lamar this year.

The event attracts over 100 million viewers globally, and Kendrick’s show broke the previous record last year with 133.5 million views.

Jay-Z’s wife, Beyoncé, has performed twice at the sports event, so she is no stranger to the football field, whilst he has never.

Set for February 8th 2026, the halftime show, as always, tries to be bigger and better than ever, and who is a bigger rap artist than Jay-Z?

Here’s what we know so far…

In a post shared by Pop Tingz on Twitter, they revealed that the ‘Run This Town’ rapper is rumoured to be performing at the next Super Bowl.

This would be the first time he has ever stepped on the field, despite his record label, Roc Nation, having a long-standing affiliation with the event.

Rumoured headliners are normally pretty accurate, with last year‘s predictions correctly guessing that ‘Humble’ rapper Kendrick was set to take on the event.

Fans are very excited about the prospect because the star is often overshadowed by his relationship with Beyoncé, but fans are quick to defend the music mogul’s talents.

One fan commented: “Guaranteed he got more hits and money than yall favourite rapper.

”Another person commented: “Lowest viewer count incoming.”

Some people online are even arguing he isn’t ‘big enough’ for the event, but fans are quick to point out he has been in the game for decades.

Jay-Z’s entertainment company, Roc Nation, has been highly regarded as an essential pillar to the music industry, producing artists like Rihanna, DJ Khaled and J. Cole.

Back in 2019, Roc Nation and Jay-Z, as its founder, entered into a partnership with the NFL.

Roc Nation acts as the Super Bowl’s ‘live music entertainment strategist’, selecting the musical guests for the past six years.

Jay-Z is responsible for the controversial pick of Kendrick Lamar as well as Rihanna, Dr. Dre and The Weeknd.

The Super Bowl halftime show is still quite a way away, but this is exciting news for Jay-Z fans.

Although we are yet to hear confirmation if the rumours are true, it would be a truly bold but iconic move for the rapper to select himself as the Super Bowl’s star.
