Back in 2011, Diddy signed up & coming rapper Machine Gun Kelly and now he's spoken out about the reasons why.

Between his acting roles in hit films such as 'The Dirt' & 'Birdbox' and his steady stream of solid music releases, rapper Machine Gun Kelly has had a very strong 18 months.

Whilst many people will pinpoint MGK's rap feud with Eminem as a big moment in his career, things really sparked for the 'Hotel Diablo' rapper when he was signed by Diddy for Bad Boy Records back in 2011 - and now Diddy has revealed why he decided to sign the rap star.

In an open post on Instagram celebrating MGK's success, Diddy wrote, 'When I first signed @machinegunkelly I knew he was going to be a star. I didn’t know how exactly we’d get there but I knew it would happen.'

He went on to say, 'I’m so proud of the artist he is becoming, he’s shown all the traits of an artist that will stand the test of time. EST19XX BAD BOY 4 LIFE!!!! Keep going King. LOVE.'

With his latest album 'Hotel Diablo' enjoying top 5 chart success in his American homeland, it's clear that Machine Gun Kelly is as popular now as he's ever been and he shows no signs of stopping.

As his music career continues to soar, MGK is reportedly set to star in a brand new Judd Apatow film which is set to drop in 2020 and will surely further boost the 29-year-old's status to even greater heights.
