DDG has been granted his request to visit his son, Halo, in Italy, following on from his baby mum, Halle Bailey, being granted temporary custody after abuse allegations.

In early June, the rapper and streamer, whose real name is Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., was denied his request for sole custody of their son, after claiming The Little Mermaid star was not “mentally well enough”.

Halle had initially been granted a restraining order back in May, after she alleged her ex-partner had been physically abusive.

She was granted a restraining order and temporary sole-custody of Halo, as she had a planned work trip to Italy over the following months, where she is currently. This is what DDG tried to prevent from happening with his own custody appeal.

Speaking in court on the 24th June, DDG’s legal team appealed for visitation rights now that Halo is abroad, and the judge permitted him, but with certain stipulations.

The ruling stated that visitation had to be supervised, the judge dismissing the suggestion of the streamer's mother, Tonya-Yvette Granberry, acting as the supervisor, instead ruling that a professional monitor would be needed.

The judge claimed that Tonya was not suitable, as in Halle’s own court documents, she had said that the mother had shown a history of enabling behaviour in reference to his alleged abusive acts.

In attempts to keep Halo as safe as possible, DDG’s team was also told that the baby daddy would not be permitted to post any photos or videos of the baby boy on his social media.

The ‘Do It’ singer has stated previously that DDG had not been providing regular parental support since she gave birth to Halo, and in her response to her ex’s filings in early June, she said his team had failed to respond to her efforts to set-up supervised provision over the entire month prior to his own court filings.

Halle had said in reference to her work trip: "I must be on set in Italy to film a movie. I am contractually bound to be there from June 7, 2025, to August 4, 2025. Darryl has known about this work obligation for months. This is my source of income, on which Halo and I rely to pay all bills."

She also mentioned the streamer's own travel plans over the coming months as another reason as to why he couldn’t have custody of their 1-year-old, as well as claiming Halo was present in some instances of abuse.

The court is expected to have another hearing with DDG’s team on the 26th June, where they will put forward their suggested professional supervisor.
