We may be little more than a week in but this year has got off to a good start. Featuring a surprise act at a Jay Z concert, a new Beyonce documentary and new music from Kid Ink and Rick Ross, here's what we've loved about January so far.
Since dropping an her album 'Beyonce' overnight at the end of last year, Beyonce has regularly released parts of a new documentary that explains the making of the album. Part five, 'Honesty,' was unveiled earlier this year. It features Pharrell, Justin Timberlake and the making of 'Rocket'.
The rapper shared this picture on his Instagram page, leading us to believe with can expect a touch of Pharrell and Chad Hugo on his next album. Picture: Instagram
Unless Blue Ivy pops up on our Instagram feed singing 'Irreplaceable,' we're pretty sure The Game's daughter, Cali, has got 'the most adorable thing we've seen in 2014' award in the bag. And it's still mid-January.
'Bound 2' is one of the most recognisable tunes for 2013, and it lives on in 2014 through a special Rick Ross freestyle. The track features Da Boss rapping over the Kanye tune - take a listen.
Our favourite picture of the year so far goes to Jay Z, P Diddy and Rick Ross, for looking like they know how to throw a party. Picture: Instagram
After his collaboration on 'Show Me' with Chris Brown we were eager to hear Kid Ink's album, and the wait paid off. January finally brought us fresh Kid Ink music
Lucky 12-year-old Justin got called up on stage at a Jay Z concert and showed the audience what he was made of. The kid sings Jay's verse from 'Clique' before hugging the rap star. It's a beautiful moment.
If you didn't get to go to one of the biggest tours of 2013, don't worry. 2014 saw Tiesto release a recap of his and Calvin Harris' 'Greater Than' tour. If you did go, relive it!
When we go to a party we dance to Beyonce. And when Beyonce goes to a party, she too dances to Beyonce. We loved this clip from P Diddy's New Year's Ever party showing Beyonce get it on to her own songs. Picture: Instagram/MannyUK
The number one DJ's new track featuring Matthew Koma is already huge, but it just got bigger with the release of it's laid-back music video. Check it out on Capital XTRA.
It's been three years since we've heard from him, so we were pleased to hear the January announcement that Common had some new music for us, and there's even more to come. Picture: Facebook
One minute it was there, and the next it was gone. Lucky for you, we manage to grab it. Lets hope this means we can hear a collaboration between Tyga and Kanye soon. Picture: Instagram.
