The rapper engaged in a Twitter spat with popular fan page Yeezy Mafia.

It's fair to say Stormzy had an eventful evening at the 2017 European Music Awards.

After scooping up an award for Best Worldwide Act for the UK & Ireland, the rapper hit the stage to perform his smash hit single 'Big For Your Boots'.

However, his epic performance wasn't the only talking point of the night - after kicking things off by entering the stage on a police car, Twitter erupted into an entirely separate discussion.

Stormzy's footwear came into question after people accused the rapper of wearing a pair of fake Yeezys, with popular account Yeezy Mafia going in on the Grime MC.

In response, Stormzy hit back at the account and attempted to clarify the situation, sending screenshots of the original packaging as proof that the shoes were genuine.

While Yeezy Mafia stuck to their word, fans soon got involved to back the rapper up.

Meanwhile, the rapper, decked out in a maroon-coloured tracksuit, lit up the stage for a high-energy performance of his chart-topping song.

Before his performance, the rapper revealed that he accidentally got stuck in the women toilets.

"If I pop out now imma look mad creepy," wrote Stormz as he documented the moment on Snapchat.
