Is the album finally dropping?
J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar fans are convinced that their long-rumoured joint album is finally on the way after a cryptic post from TDE boss Punch.
On the eve of J. Cole’s new album ‘KOD’, the label boss took to Instagram to post a picture of a half-eaten piece of fruit alongside the caption “4bidden.”
Kendrick Lamar famously appeared on J. Cole’s 2013 song ‘Forbidden Fruit’, taken from the album ‘Born Sinner’.
Interestingly, J. Cole has teased that he has also been working on a secret project, in addition to his new album ‘KOD’.
During a listening session for his fans in London, the rapper revealed that his new song ‘1985’ is the intro to another mystery project.
Back in 2016, TDE artist Ab-Soul also confirmed the existence of a joint Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole album, during an interview with The Breakfast Club.
“I don’t know much about it. I just hope they use my verse … There is a Kendrick Cole album,” he told Charlamagne Tha God, DJ Envy and Angela Yee at the time.
However J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar are yet to officially comment on the speculation.
