J Cole Reveals His Top Six Rappers
Following the release of his new album '2014 Forest Hills Drive,' J Cole stopped by Power 105.1 and was asked to reveal his top five rappers. In the end, he named six. In no particular order, here's who J Cole thinks owns rap.
-
1. The Notorious B.I.G
It's not surprised that The Notorious B.I.G aka Biggie Smalls has made it on to this list. The iconic rapper who was taken from the world too soon left behind a ton of classics including his brilliant 'Mo Money Mo Problems.'
-
2. Tupac Shakur
The late great Tupac Shakur make a regular appearance on most 'Best Rappers' lists.
-
3. Nas
Nas' 1994 'Illmatic' album turned twenty years old this year so it's safe to now label it as a classic. J Cole lists Nas as one of the top five rappers of all time.
-
4. Eminem
In the end it appears J Cole extended the top five to a top six as he couldn't choose. He also spoke of recent track 'Fire Squad' which he appeared to be dissing Eminem on. "If you think I’m dissing Eminem, I know you just read the headline, or you're listening to the song with the headline in mind" he said.
