Soul Train Awards Cypher

This is the first ever soul cypher at the awards.

While cyphers are usually reserved for the most lyrical and talented of MCs, the 2015 Soul Train Awards have introduced their own cypher series dedicated to the best of soul music.

With Erykah Badu spinning on the decks, Chrisette Michele, K-Ci Haily, Eddie Levert and Lalah Hathaway showed off their vocal skills over legendary cypher anthem Mobb Deep’s ‘Shook Ones’.

The Weeknd picked up awards for R&B/Soul male artist and album of the year at this year's Soul Train Awards, while Mark Ronson’s ‘Uptown Funk’ featuring Bruno Mars won awards for song of the year and video of the year.

Meanwhile, Erykah recently released a new mixtape called ‘But U Caint Use My Phone’ which includes her Drake Hotline Bling cover ‘Hotline Bling But U Caint Use My Phone’.
