Hart was allegedly being extorted by someone who has a "sexually suggestive" video involving him and a mystery woman.

Kevin Hart has issued an apology to his family after being accused of cheating on his pregnant wife and allegedly being extorted.

In a video addressed to his spouse Eniko Parrish and kids Heaven Hart and Hendix Hart, his children from a previous marriage, the comedian apologised for his "bad error in judgement".

"I'm at a place in my life where I feel like I have a target on my back and I should make smart decisions and recently I didn't," Hart confessed.

"I made a bad error in judgement and put myself in an environment where only bad things can happen and they did,"

"And doing that I know that I am going to hurt the people closest to, whom I have talked to—my wife and my kids."

Hart went on to suggest that someone was threatening to leak a "sexually suggestive" video of the comedian and a woman and demanding payment from him.

According to TMZ, the footage is not a sex tape, but appears to be a "prelude to sex", noting that Hart is not actually visible in the video.

The extortion attempt allegedly failed - hence Hart's apology - and it is being reported that the authorities are now involved.

After the news broke, social media users took to Twitter to express their disdain for the actor's alleged infidelity.

This isn't the first cheating scandal Kevin has found himself caught up in in recent months - in July, a video of him and a mystery woman sat together in the backseat of a car surfaced online.

Hart denied those allegations.
