After finally releasing his new album, ‘The Life of Pablo’ on Saturday, Kanye West completely overshadowed any music that came out in the past week.
In between all the excitement over ‘Pablo’, it was almost possible to miss that Skepta dropped ‘Ladies Hit Squad’, his first new track since October. South London MC Konan also shared a new freestyle, titled ‘Last Night In LA’, on Valentine’s Day.
Vic Mensa, last seen trying to grab the aux cord off Kanye at his Madison Square Garden listening party and fashion show, unveiled the video for his collaboration with Skrillex, ’No Chill’. This week also saw new music from A$AP Mob and G-Eazy.
(Warning: the following videos contain strong language and footage some people made find offensive.)
Skepta Feat. A$AP Nast & D Double E - ‘Ladies Hit Squad’
Skepta dropped his first track of 2016 on Valentine’s Day and, as you might expect, it's full of lines aimed at the ladies. The Boy Better Know MC is currently working on his new album, due to be released later this year.
Konan - ‘Last Night In LA’
After his partner in crime, Krept, released his ‘Last Night In Lagos' freestyle last year, many fans were waiting to hear Konan’s version. This week, the South London MC finally delievered with a hard-hitting rap that had people asking "#WhoP***edOffKonan” on Twitter.
G-Eazy - ‘Order More’
G-Eazy released a NSFW video to go with his, equally explicit, single ‘Order More’. The Oakland rapper released his fourth studio album in December and he’s currently on a US tour with A$AP Ferg.
A$AP Twelvyy Feat. A$AP Rocky & A$AP Nast - ‘Lords Never Worry’
Speaking of A$APs, Rocky recently announced that his mob will be dropping new tracks each week as part of their ‘Wavey Wednesday’ series – their answer to Kanye’s G.O.O.D Fridays. We’re running out of days of the week fast but Turn Up Tuesdays is still avaliable at the time of writing.
Vic Mensa & Skrillex - 'No Chill'
Skrillex and Vic Mensa’s collaboration, ‘No Chill’, was released last year but their music video for the track only just emerged this week. The video follows the pair as they party in Toyko’s neon-lit underbelly.
