Check out our Ibiza Club guide and get your holiday off to a PROPER good start.
So you're going to Ibiza this year, are you? Well by now you've probably read all the Ibiza survival guides you can find, you already know the songs that are destroying Ibiza in 2014 and the only problem is - where do you actually go?
Well Capital XTRA is spending all of this summer in Ibiza, as we bring you the action from Cream Ibiza and Ibiza Rocks House every weekend, so we thought we'd round up a list of clubs you might want to hit up while you're on the White Isle.
If you want a big room clubbing experience with plenty of lasers, bass and fist pumping (and juicy sweat) then head to Amnesia for parties such as Cream Ibiza, Music On and Cocoon. You can even get your foam fix here with La Troya/Es Puma foam party – and yes Paris Hilton really will be hosting the main room throughout August.
This summer, as expected Cream returns to the White Isle with another seriously good line up, where you’ll be catch Paul Van Dyk, Eddie Halliwell, Calvin Harris and Laidback Luke.
Plus, also at Amnesia, you can enjoy sets from Steve Angello, Deadmau5, Eric Prydz, Sven Väth and Dubfire (and many more) throughout the season at one of the other events set to take over Amnesia's two monster rooms.
The closing party is also something pretty special, so if you can handle 24 hours of solid partying, you must go.
Parties : Cream, Cocoon, Together, La Troya/Espuma Foam, Music On, Matinee and Amnesia Presents.
Although Ibiza Rocks is a hotel it still has the life and soul of an Ibiza club and on both Wednesday and Friday nights the pool area turns into an intimate but pumping stage for pop, D’n’B and rock stars alike!
The most famous, long running party takes place on a Wednesday night after the Ibiza Rocks boat party – optional but recommended - and promises a season full of live music with performances from Bastille, Clean Bandit, Ella Eyre and many more.
This summer, Idris Elba Presents 7 Wallace returns to Ibiza Rocks House and for the first time you can hear an extended two hour highlights show on Capital XTRA every Sunday night.
Whilst since 2012 Friday nights have become home to ‘We Are Rockstars’ (W.A.R), the hotel’s DJ focused, dance music night. This summer you can catch Example & DJ Wire, Gorgon City, Toddla T, Fatboy Slim, Mark Ronson performing along the poolside.
Parties: Ibiza Rocks, Idris Elba Presents 7 Wallace and W.A.R.
An island favourite since 1973, Pacha Ibiza is the White Isle's oldest club and is famous for its VIP appeal and long running parties like David Guetta's F*** Me I’m Famous.
Since the 80s, Pacha has gone onto become far more than just a club; now considered one of the biggest brands within the scene with its big red cherries recognised everywhere. Plus, with an event suitable for pretty much anyone – yes even your mum and dad – with events such as DJ Piti's legendary hippy fiesta 'Flower Power' and now Steve Aok'’s crazy electro 'Playhouse' you really can't go wrong.
Parties: Ibiza Rocks House, Flower Power, Aoki's Playhouse, F*** Me I'm Famous, Insane, Pure Pacha and Soloumun +1.
Famous for its mammoth opening and closing parties, Space is one venue that clubbers steadily flock to throughout the season. With a Funktion One sound system and five different but equally amazing rooms: Terraza, Sunset Terraza, Discoteca, El Salón and Premier Étage, this is one club that promises to take you on an adventure from sunset to sunrise.
Space, is again, a club that offers a variety of parties and therefore sounds that each cater to a different kind of dance music fan. The club even caters to trance music fans this year with 'Clandestin Presents Full on Ibiza hosted by Ferry Corsten\ – a first since Armin Van Buuren’s party 'Be', whilst also offering a steady selection of parties for the hardcore techno lovers and the bouncing tech house movers and shakers.
Be sure to explore all of the dance-floors and experience more than one of Space's parties – oh and expect to be wowed by some amazing laser shows. If you fancy something a little different head to Kehakuma on a Saturday night for some techno madness and a splash of Ibiza mania as Barcelona party 'El-Row' has moved to the Discoteca.
Parties: Café Olé, Carl Cox's Music Is Revolution', Ibiza Calling, Enter., Clandestin Presents Full on Ibiza hosted by Ferry Corsten, Kehakuma, Elrow Ibiza and We Love.
Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel has been a major attraction since its opening in 2011, with a breathtaking open air space and impressive headliners to match. The venue, which doubles up as a luxurious hotel and includes Ushuaïa Ibiza Tower located next door, is the perfect space for outdoor daytime clubbing with a mega pool and amazing visuals.
This year the venue has welcomed 'Departures' featuring Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso as well as performances from Armand Van Helden, Dirty South and Zedd. And of course, Avicii is back to serve another season, joined by island favourite Laidback Luke, Benni Benassi, John Dahlbäck and Wyclef Jean – someone please call 911…
Parties: David Guetta at Ushuaïaï, I am Hardwell, Departures, Armin Van Buuren Presents A State of Trance, Ants and Avicii.
Say hello to the mother of all clubs, Privilege… As the island’s biggest club, Privilege is somewhere where you really can get lost in the music. Named 'Ku' in the 80s it was a magnet to the rich and the famous; a regular hotspot for the likes of Freddy Mercury.
Complete with a swimming pool – but no jumping please – Privilege may have had its heyday but it can still pull in a strong crowd and is a firm favourite among trance troopers.
As the club is so big not all areas are open for each party but if you want to see it in all it's glory check out SuperMartxé… but be warned – expect the unexpected.
Parties: Sunk, Reverse, Mass Bass, SuperMartxé and The Pharm.
Sankeys Ibiza is the smallest of our club picks with just three more intimate rooms: The Basement, LAB and Spektrum. Whilst it is one of the island’s smaller venues it had some great parties that rival those of the super clubs, Flying Circus, Fuse and Magna Carta Adelante for example.
Plus on a Monday night you can catch 'Duke Dumont Presents Blase Boys Club', where he will be joined by the likes of Waze & Odyssey, Andy Baxter and Shadow Child during the season. Don’t miss out on a fresh mix of house and hip hop as Amine Edge & Dance bring their ‘Cuff’ imprint to Sankeys’ dance-floor every Thursday night.
Parties: Duke Dumont presents B Boys Club, Fuse, Tribal Sessions, Cuff, Flying Circus, Magna Carat Adelante and Viva Warriors.
