2015 has been a huge year for Hip-Hop beef, with Drake, Meek Mill, 50 Cent and more, choosing to go head-to-head. We have complied some of the most explosive moments.
It all started when Meek Mill randomly tweeted that Drake didn't write his own lyrics! However instead of responding on social media, Drizzy unleashed two big diss tracks 'Charged Up' and 'Back To Back' - calling Meek a "snitch" and questioning his relationship with Nicki Minaj. After Meek's response 'Wanna Know' got a frosty reception, Drake dealt the final blow when he performed 'Back To Back' live in front of a powerpoint of offensive Meek Mill memes at OVO Fest.
Things got frosty between Nicki and Miley after the singer told The New York Times that Minaj "was not too kind" and "not polite" for questioning the credibility of the VMAs. And after winning 'Best Hip-Hop Video' at the corresponding VMAs for 'Anaconda', Nicki called her out live on stage. She said: "This bitch that had a lot to say about me the other day in the press. Miley, what’s good?"
50 Cent reignited his long-running feud with Rick Ross in November! Seemingly out of nowhere, the New York rapper called out Ross on Instagram, with an offensive post about his weight. Rozay responded by making fun of 50's bankruptcy issues and things got ugly. After lots of brutal insults back and forth 50 said he wanted to “see” Rick Ross.
Everything kicked off between Amber Rose and Khloe Kardashian when Amber said that Tyga should be "ashamed of himself" for dating 17-year-old Kylie Jenner because she was a “baby”. After Kylie's half-sister took to Twitter to remind Amber that she was a stripper at 15-years-old, she responded: I'm happy u brought up the fact that I was a stripper at 15. @khloekardashian I'll be that lil wh*re to support my family like ur older sister is a wh*re 2 support hers. We're even." Ouch.
Tinie allegedly started the feud when he subliminally dissed Chip in a radio freestyle. After a long wait, Chip hit back with a series of brutal diss tracks - calling the rapper a "coward" and claiming that Tinie was disrespecting every UK artist without a major record deal. With rumours that Tinie has dissed Chip on his new 'Junkfood' mixtape, this feud could run into 2016!
Unsurprisingly, this beef is rather one sided! While discussing Nicki Minaj's earlier feud with Miley Cyrus, Azealia Banks said that it was "a contest of the basics" and claimed Nicki makes "basic a** music". Ouch. Earlier in the year, Banks also took more shots at Nicki following the announcement of the 2015 BET Award nominations. She tweeted: "The female rap award goes to Nicki every year, it's not even a real award anymore lol it's a running joke."
Things got interesting between the two Young Money rappers when Tyga called Drake “fake” in an interview with VIBE Magazine. Drizzy initially hit back by liking Tyga's ex-fiancee's pictures on Instagram. He then dropped a song called 6PM in New York, in which he dissed Tyga about his relationship with his teenage girlfriend Kylie Jenner. “You need to act your own age and not your girls age,” he rapped.
Nicki Minaj appeared to take subliminal shots at Taylor Swift after Anaconda wasn’t nominated for ‘Video Of The Year’ at the 2015 VMAs. She tweeted: "If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year." And Taylor snapped back, tweeting: “I've done nothing but love & support you. It's unlike you to pit women against each other. Maybe one of the men took your slot.”
After #TheKylieJennerChallenge went viral earlier this year, people all around the world attempted to impersonate Kylie Jenner's unusually large lips. However things got very interesting when Blac Chyna, the ex-fiance of Kylie's boyfriend Tyga, shared a picture of herself comically enhanced lips. Was she taking shots at the teenager? Twitter thought so!
Joe Budden took shots at Meek Mill and Nicki Minaj's relationship on his online podcast. He said that Meek was being "soppy" for the affection he showed Nicki and that he needed to "man up"! Meek quickly fired back on social media, first calling Budden "an old hating noodle" before claiming "its a funeral when Joe takes the mic". Nicki Minaj then got involved calling Joe "jealous", before Meek unleashed Nicki's army of fans on him, tweeting "Barbz get em!"
