Rihanna Pays Tribute To Her Cousin Who Was Shot Dead On Boxing Day

The singer has called for an end to gun violence following the tragic death.

Rihanna's cousin has tragically died after being shot dead on Boxing Day in Barbados.

The 'Wild Thoughts' singer has called for an end to gun violence after paying tribute to her late cousin on her Instagram page.

Reports claim that 21-year-old Tavon Kaiseen Alleyne was walking near his home in Lakes Close, Eden Lodge, St Michael at around 7pm when he was approached by a man who shot him multiple times and fled the scene.

Alleyne was then rushed to hospital but sadly died.

Rihanna posted a touching message following the incident, posting images of herself and Alleyne together with the hashtag #endgunviolence.

"RIP cousin... can't believe it was just last night that I held you in my arms! never thought that would be the last time I felt the warmth in your body!!! Love you always man!" she wrote.

Condolences flooded the singer's Instagram post as thousands of fans and supporters sent words of love and sympathy to Rihanna and her family.

Police have launched an investigation into the shooting and are urging anyone with information regarding the incident to contact them.
