Is 'Yeezy Sounds’ about to dethrone Tidal?
Kanye West is reportedly working on his own streaming service called 'Yeezy Sounds'.
Documents obtained by The Blast have allegedly been filed by Kanye's reps to trademark the service for purposes that include "streaming of music, audio, images, video and other multimedia content over the internet."
If true, the 'Famous' rapper may be set to rival former friend Jay Z's well-known streaming service, Tidal.
Kanye has been embroiled in a financial dispute with Tidal and Jay after claiming he's owed $3.5 million in unpaid advances for his 2016 album, 'The Life of Pablo.'
Adding to the strain on their friendship, Jay appeared to reference West and the royalty feud on the '4:44' track 'Kill Jay Z'.
The father to Blue, Rumi and Sir later revealed that, while the track wasn't directly about Yeezy, he felt 'Ye crossed the line after bringing his family into their disagreement.
West is yet to comment on the report.
Meanwhile, the 'Ultralight Beam' rapper performed live for the first time since his mental breakdown after joining Kid Cudi on stage this week.
