Beyonce commemorated the 15th anniversary of Aaliyah’s death with a touching throwback of the pair together at the MTV VMAs in 2000.
At the time the ‘Lemonade’ singer was on the rise with Destiny’s Child and had been asked to interview celebrities on the VMAs red carpet.
Beyonce posted a very short clip on Instagram however the full interview still exists online.
“What's up, this is Beyoncé on the red carpet with one of the hottest female artists out there,” Queen Bey tells the camera.

During the interview the pair discuss Aaliyah’s budding movie career and her love for R&B singer D’Angelo.
The singer memorably made her name in the acting world, with an appearance in 2000’s ‘Romeo Must Die’ and 2002’s ‘Queen Of The Damned’.
Aaliyah tragically died in a plane crash on 25th August 2001.
